Transferring funds overseas
We can help you transfer funds worldwide by arranging an International Money Transfer (telegraphic transfer) to any nominated overseas bank account. Transfers are sent in the currency of the destination country and they are a quick method of sending funds overseas. You can only send a currency other than the one used in the destination country if the recipient has an account in the other currency.
International Money Transfers offer a number of advantages:
- More secure than sending a payment by means such as a cheque.
- Funds reach their destination quickly – usually within 48-72 hours.
- Cleared funds are provided to the recipient as soon as they are credited to their account.
Care needs to be taken if the transfer is for the payment of goods or services. Frequently, the receiving bank will take a fee from the funds transferred and the recipient will not receive the full amount.
