Cheques - EECU

Write your own cheques or obtain Corporate or Bank Cheques from EECU, drawing on funds in your Access Plus (S1) account.

Personal Cheques

By linking a personal cheque book to your Access Plus account, you can write personal cheques for purchases or payments. Your cheque amounts are withdrawn from your linked account when they are presented.

If you are making regular cheque payments for bills and purchases, we suggest using internet banking as a quicker way of transferring funds or using BPAY.

To request a personal cheque book contact an EECU office.

Additional information about cheques

  • Sign your name or initials when altering a cheque.
  • Always keep a record of the cheques you write by completing the cheque book butts. Reconcile the cheque withdrawals on your statement - which include cheque serial numbers - with the data on the cheque book butts.

Corporate & Bank Cheques

If you need a one-off cheque because you don’t have a personal cheque book, or a company or individual won’t accept a personal cheque, EECU can provide you with a either a Corporate cheque or Bank cheque.

  • Corporate cheques have the same legal standing as Bank cheques and are generally used for large transactions.
  • Bank cheques are usually used for property settlements.
  • Corporate and Bank cheques are purchased from clear funds from your account or by providing cash so you don’t have to worry about the cheque being dishonoured.

Contact either the Melbourne or Sale office to arrange. Fees apply.
